10 films not to be missed in 2016

New Year is always associated with new expectations, and the aspirations of moviegoers - with fresh films.

We will talk about a dozen interesting multi-genre films, some of which you can appreciate in the coming months. This year we will see fresh work from the most famous directors, and in order not to miss anything interesting, let's follow the announcements.

Long live Caesar!(Hail, Caesar!)

George Clooney in the star ensemble of the comedy film "Long Live Caesar!" brothers Joel and Ethan Coen.

Coens are among the most respected American filmmakers, their new film critics called the witty and the brightest in the filmography of the director's duet. It is known that the plot is focused on the fixer journalist in the Hollywood film industry of the 1950s, who needs to find an actor who was stolen by a mysterious organization called The Future before reporters.

Ghostbusters 3(Ghostbusters)

Paul Feig, the author of the cult TV show Freaks and Nuts and the director of the successful satirical film "Hen Night in Vegas" (2011), decided to make a remake of the fantastic comedy "Ghostbusters" starring a female quartet. The new team that protects New York from evil spirits: Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon. The old guard - Bill Murray, Dan Ackroyd, Sigourney Weaver and Ernie Hudson - will appear sporadically.

Captain America: Civil War(Captain America: Civil War)

Steve Rogers (Captain America) faces another major problem: Tony Stark (Iron Man). In the new superhero action movie, the avengers are divided into two opposition camps (hence the part of the name - the confrontation). This fantastic picture is also interesting for the appearance of new characters: Tom Holland as Spider-Man and Chadwick Bowzman as Black Panther.

On July 15, 1974, Florida television host Christine Chubbuck shot herself in the head on the air. After her suicide in front of the audience, Sidney Lumet shot a caustic satire on the American television network Television (Network, 1976), which won four Oscars. Now the film about the life of the journalist Chubbuck is released by Antonio Campos.

Neon demon(The Neon Demon)

Nicholas Winding Refn has already established himself as a director who knows how to make a horror of his films, so the intrigue is provided. The cast of Neon Demon is Keanu Reeves, El Fanning and Christina Hendricks. We add that the plot of the film is partly inspired by the sinister acts of the legendary Elizabeth Bathory (she is also the Blood Countess or Countess Dracula).

Assassin's Creed(Assassin's Creed)

The sci-fi action movie "Assassin's Creed" is an adaptation of the popular series of computer games, which is expected to be released in late 2016. The director was Justin Kurzel, and starring such stars as Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, Ariana Labed, Brendan Gleason, Jeremy Irons. Cool, right?

Thanks to technology that releases genetic memory, the protagonist will survive the adventures of his ancestor in Spain of the 15th century and fight the knights of the Knights Templar.

Some women(Certain Women)

When major movie stars agree to a more modest fee, if only to star in a particular director, does this mean something? Kelly Reichardt has built a solid reputation in American indie cinema. Michelle Williams played the main role in her new project, and her company was Kristen Stewart and Laura Dern. The film "Some Women" is based on short stories by Mail Mela, released in 2009.

Twenty-odd years ago, Martin Scorsese was tempted to make a film based on the novel Silence by Shusaku Endo. The dream project was delayed for various reasons, but this year, finally, we will see this historical drama. Andrew Garfield, Adam Driver, and Liam Neeson starred as Portuguese priests who went to Japan to carry the Word of God. The picture takes place in the 17th century. We hope that Scorsese did something spectacular.

Silent passion(A Quiet Passion)

Terence Davis does not often release new films, but critics unanimously call him "the greatest living director in the UK." This time we expect the release on the big screen of his biographical drama about the life of the American poetess Emily Dickinson. The scale of her work became known only after her death, during her life the poetess published less than ten poems out of a thousand eight hundred.

Light in the ocean(The Light Between Oceans)

Derek Sienfrance is well known for his earlier works ("Valentine Card", "Place under the Pines"), so his next drama is simply a must-see. The story takes place in Australia. The lighthouse keeper and his wife (Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander) find the child in a lifeboat moored to the shore. Rachel Weisz also starred in the film.
